Olfactory House co-founder and perfumer, Erica, spent her grade-school years in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, whereJackson Drug Co. was more than a place to grab a treat, it was a gathering place with an old-fashioned soda fountain,where locals came to linger and catch up. For Erica, a trip there with her dad meant the special treat of an ice cream coneor a root beer float.

Her dad would stand outside with his cowboy buddies, shooting the shit and kicking the dirt. She’d weave past boots,denim, dime-store cologne, and hand-rolled cigarettes, and pull open the door. As it opened, the sweet rush of vanilla, icecream, and soda fizz would waft out to meet her...a treat all its own.

Soda Jerk lives in that doorway.

That collision of scent became one of her core memories, and Soda Jerk is its olfactory retelling.It opens with the bright effervescence of a freshly cracked cola...citrus, ginger, and spice bubbling to the surface. As thefizz settles, sarsaparilla emerges alongside warm vanilla and tobacco, lingering on the skin like the memory itself.
