Yes! Olfactory House Bespoke process begins by completing a scent profile worksheet and signing an agreement. This can be completed electronically and emailed to our perfumer. This step gives the perfumer an overview of the customer’s preferences. After we receive the worksheet, a 1–2 hour appointment is scheduled with our perfumer. Olfactory House has an array of proprietary accords and single notes pulled from our perfumer’s perfume organ based on the intial evaluation of the worksheet. The client will spend time during the initial appointment smelling the individual components that the perfumer may use in their final formula. The perfumer uses a combination of what is chosen by the client during the initial appointment to begin the formulation.
Our perfumer will work to understands the client’s preferences during the first appointment and then the formulation process takes approximately one month. The perfumer creates three “rough drafts” for the client to sample and evaluate. After spending some time with those samples, the client chooses one of the three “rough drafts” and, thereafter, there are two opportunities to adjust the formula and/or accords.
Once completed, the perfume is then packaged for the customer. We keep the customer’s formula and preferences in-house for future use, but we do not commercialize the client’s formula. It is theirs and theirs alone! The customer can contact us at any time for a refill!
The fee for this service is $750, which includes our perfumer’s time, all appointments with our perfumer, and sample materials. The final cost of the bespoke formula is based on the ingredients used and the final quantity requested by the client. Please allow for a six-month engagement from initial appointment to finished product.
